Anti-ENaC beta (Scnn1b) antibody is validated on mouse tissue and recommended for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from rodent and human tissues.
The epithelial sodium channel (ENaC) comprises of three homologous subunits: alpha, beta and gamma. ENaC beta subunit is encoded by the SCNN1B gene in human. ENaC is nonvoltage-gated, amiloride-sensitive, sodium channel that controls fluid and electrolyte transport across epithelia in many organs.
ENaC beta subunit consists in two transmembrane domains, a large extracellular loop and two cytoplasmic ends. ENaC beta subunit is primarily expressed by the kidney, the intestine, the lung and the skin.
Mutations in ENaC beta subunit cause pseudohypoaldosteronism type 1 (PHA1) (OMIM 264350), a rare salt wasting disease resulting from target organ unresponsiveness to mineralocorticoids.
