Subcellular structures such as primary cilium and centrosome, tight junction and gap junction, and etc, require high resolution imaging antibodies to label for various cell biologic studies, esp. super-resolution microscopic studies. Such antibodies need not only binding affinity but also low background.
BiCell Scientific Inc researchers have discovered that even antibodies raised against short-peptide antigens (13-19 amino acids) have background binding signals due to nonspecific binding to partial sequences in an epitope that resemble certain endogenous protein sequences in cells or tissues. BiCell Scientific Inc has developed a depletion chromatography technique with affinity column conjugated to a series of partial sequences in the epitope to remove nonspecific antibody bindings.
