Anti-NEPH2 (KIRREL3) antibody is validated on mouse tissue and recommended for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from rodent and human tissues.
NEPH2, also known as Kin of IRRE-like protein 3 (KIRREL3), is encoded by the KIRREL3 gene in human. NEPH2 is a member of the NEPH protein family, which includes NEPH1 (KIRREL1) and NEPH3 (KIRREL2).
NEPH2 is found in the slit diaphragm of the kidney podocytes and can interact with Nephrin and CASK. NEPH2 consists of an extracellular N-terminal domain, a helical transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic C-terminal domain. NEPH2 has also been implicated in synapse formation. Genetic knockout of NEPH2 cause abnormal brain development.
