Anti-Nephrocystin-6 (human) (NPHP6 or CEP290 or MKS4 or BBS14) antibody is validated on human cells and recommended for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from human tissues.

Nephrocystin-6, also known as centrosomal protein 290 (CEP290), or MKS3 or BBS14, is encoded by the CEP290 gene in human. The CEP290 protein is a centrosomal protein that plays an important role in the development of centrosome and primary cilium. It contains several coiled-coil domains and an ATP/GTP binding motif.

Mutations in CEP290 has been associated with nephronophthisis, Meckel syndrome, and Joubert syndrome (OMIM 610142).

This antibody is recommended for staining centrosomes in human tissues. For rodent tissues, please choose 90006.

I have tested the rat polyclonal IgGs to ABCD1 by immunoflourescence on cells overexpressing ABCD1. The antibodies successfully detected the protein (either untagged or tagged with GFP) at a 1:500 dilution and there was little background. The antibodies did not detect ABCD2. So this is very good news, and you may now go ahead and clone out a monoclonal!
