Anti-Patched-1 (PTCH1 or PTCH) antibody is validated on mouse tissue and can be used for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from rodent and human tissues.
Protein patched homolog 1 (patched-1 or PTCH1 or PTCH) is encoded by the PTCH1 gene in human. Patched-1 is a member of the patched protein family and is the receptor for sonic hedgehog , a secreted molecule implicated in embryonic development and in tumorigenesis.
Patched-1 is a transmembrane protein that suppresses the activity of smoothened in the absence of sonic hedgehog ligand. When sonic hedgehog binds to patched-1, suppression of smoothened is relieved, which turns on the cell proliferation program.
