Anti-Sarcoglycan Alpha (SGCA) antibody is validated on mouse tissue and recommended for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from rodent and human tissues.
Alpha-sarcoglycan is a membrane protein that is encoded by the SGCA gene in human. Alpha-sarcoglycan is a component of the dystrophin-glycoprotein complex (DGC), which is critical to the stability of muscle fiber membranes and to the linking of the actin cytoskeleton to the extracellular matrix. Mutations in the SGCA gene result in type 2D autosomal recessive limb-girdle muscular dystrophy.
