Anti-WT1 antibody is validated on mouse tissue and recommended for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from human and rodent tissues.
Wilms’ tumor protein is a transcriptional factor that is encoded by the WT1 gene in human. WT1 contains four zinc-finger motifs at the C-terminus and a proline/glutamine-rich DNA-binding domain at the N-terminus. It plays an essential role in the normal development of the urogenital system, and it is mutated in a small subset of patients with Wilms tumor.
Autosomal dominant forms of mutation in the WT1 gene have been found to cause Nephrotic syndrome, type 4 (NPHS4, OMIM 256370).
