Anti-Claudin-2 (CLDN2) monoclonal antibody (E5 clone) is validated on mouse and human tissues and can be used for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from rodent and human tissues. The E5 clone is particularly suited for IHC applications on FFPE sections.
Claudin-2 is a protein that is encoded by the CLDN2 gene in human. Claudin-2 belongs to the Claudin protein superfamily.
Claudins are tetraspan proteins making the tight junction. Claudins have four transmembrane domains, two extracellular loops (ECLs: ECL1 and ECL2), amino- and carboxyl-terminal cytoplasmic domains, and a short cytoplasmic motif.
Claudin-2 is primarily expressed in intestinal crypts and is strongly upregulated in inflammatory diseases of the intestines.
