Anti-CLC-Ka/b antibody is validated on mouse tissue and recommended for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from rodent and human tissues.
The CLC family of chloride channels are voltage gated chloride channels. In human genome, there are 9 members of CLC channels, including CLC-Ka and Kb. CLC-Ka and Kb are highly homologous proteins with 94% sequence identity. CLC-Ka and Kb are encoded by CLCKA and CLCKB genes respectively in human.
CLCKa and Kb proteins consist in 10 transmembrane domains. Both proteins are highly expressed in the kidney. Mutations in CLCKa (OMIM 602024) or Kb (OMIM 602023) cause Bartter syndrome.
Due to the high sequence similarity, this antibody will detect both CLCKa and CLCKb proteins.
