Green fluorescent protein (GFP) is a protein that exhibits green fluorescence when excited by light in the blue to ultraviolet range. GFP is a very useful fusion marker for a variety of in vitro and in vivo experiments.
BiCell Scientific Inc’s anti-GFP antibody utilizes the Fv domain sequence of mouse hybridoma clone N86/38 that is the most widely characterized anti-GFP clone. N86/38 can cross-react with CFP and YFP but does not bind to dsRed.
BiCell Scientific Inc’s anti-GFP antibody is recombinant chimeric antibody that combines the Fv domain of N86/38 with the Fc domain of a selected species from mouse, rat or rabbit. Such a feature allows the chimeric antibody to retain the original binding characteristics of N86/38 clone while confer a greater species flexibility.
