Anti-Connexin-45 (Cx45 or Gjc1) antibody is validated on mouse tissue and recommended for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from rodent and human tissues.
Connexins are the structural proteins making the gap junction. Each gap junction is composed of two hemichannels, or connexons, which consist of a hexameric assembly of connexin proteins.
Connexin-45 is encoded by the Gjc1 gene in human. Connexin-45 is also known as gap junction protein gamma-1. Connexins have four transmembrane domains, two extracellular loops, amino- and carboxyl-terminal cytoplasmic domains, and a cytoplasmic turn motif.
Connexin-45 proteins are expressed by the pancreas and the testis.
