Anti-Desmoglein-1 (DSG1) antibody is validated on mouse tissue and recommended for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from rodent and human tissues.
Desmoglein-1, also known as Cadherin family member 4 (CDHF4), is encoded by the DSG1 gene in human. Desmoglein-1 is a member of the desmoglein protein subfamily. Desmogleins, along with desmocollins, are cadherin-like transmembrane glycoproteins that are major components of the desmosome.
Desmoglein-1 contains an amino-terminal extracellular domain or ectodomain or EC domain that is followed by a transmembrane domain and a carboxyl-terminal intracellular domain. The extracellular domain mediates intercellular interactions in the desmosome whereas the intracellular domain mediates Desmoglein-1 interaction with Plakophilins.
