Anti-NEPH1 (KIRREL1) antibody is validated on mouse tissue and recommended for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from rodent and human tissues.
NEPH1, also known as Kin of IRRE-like protein 1 (KIRREL1), is encoded by the KIRREL1 gene in human. NEPH1 is a member of the NEPH protein family, which includes NEPH2 (KIRREL3) and NEPH3 (KIRREL2).
NEPH1 is found in the slit diaphragm of the kidney podocytes and can interact with Nephrin, podocin and ZO-1. NEPH1 consists of an extracellular N-terminal domain, a helical transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic C-terminal domain. The N-terminal domain in NEPH1 resembles that in nephrin.
