Anti-SIX1 (DFNA23) antibody is validated on mouse tissue and recommended for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from human and rodent tissues.
Homeobox protein SIX1 (Sine oculis homeobox homolog 1) is a transcriptional factor protein that is encoded by the SIX1 gene in human. The vertebrate SIX genes are homologs of the Drosophila ‘sine oculis’ (so) gene, which is expressed primarily in the developing visual system of the fly. Members of the SIX gene family encode transcriptional factor proteins that are characterized by a divergent DNA-binding homeodomain and an upstream SIX domain.
Mutations in this gene cause autosomal dominant deafness type 23 (DFNA23) and branchiootic syndrome type 3 (BOS3).
