Anti-Trpv5 (human) antibody is recommended for immunofluorescence labeling, IHC, or western blot of materials from human tissues.
Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 5 (Trpv5) is a calcium channel protein that is encoded by the TRPV5 gene in human. Trpv5 protein consists in six transmembrane domains, six ANK repeats and an N-linked glycosylation site in the extracellular loop.
Trpv5 is highly expressed by the epithelium in the kidney and the intestine, where it plays an important role in the absorption of Ca2+. Genetic deletion of TRPV5 in mice leads to Ca2+ loss in the urine, reduction in bone mineral density and secondary hyperparathyroidism.
This antibody was raised against human specific epitope sequence in Trpv5 protein, which derives from a homologous region to the validated mouse Trpv5 epitope (Cat No.: 11035).
